Sperry Law Firm (“Sperry Law Firm,” “the firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit sperrylaw-pc.com (the “Site”) or contact us through it. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect the information we collect from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a breach of security involving personal information, we will provide notice as required by the Florida Information Protection Act and other applicable law.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to comply with our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Client records are retained in accordance with applicable Florida Bar and legal requirements.

Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it, consistent with the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Your Choices

You may choose not to provide personal information, though this may limit our ability to respond to you. You can control cookies through your browser as described above. If you receive email from the firm and no longer wish to, you may reply and ask us to stop, and we will honor applicable requirements of the federal CAN-SPAM Act.

Florida and Federal Privacy Rights

Several federal laws may apply to how information is handled through the Site, including the Federal Trade Commission Act (which prohibits unfair or deceptive practices), the CAN-SPAM Act (governing commercial email), and COPPA (governing children’s information). We aim to handle your information consistently with these laws.

Florida’s data breach notification law, the Florida Information Protection Act (FIPA), requires businesses to safeguard personal information and to notify affected Florida residents in the event of certain data breaches. We maintain safeguards and breach-notification procedures consistent with FIPA.

Florida’s comprehensive consumer privacy law, the Florida Digital Bill of Rights, generally applies only to businesses with very large annual revenues (exceeding one billion dollars) and therefore is not expected to apply to Sperry Law Firm. If it does not apply, the individual access and deletion rights it grants are not required of the firm. Even so, if you have a question or request about the personal information we hold about you, you may contact us using the information below and we will respond appropriately.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no industry-standard response to DNT signals at this time, and the Site does not currently respond to them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
